LNG Storage Tanks

Insulated pressure vessels for storing liquefied natural gas at low temperatures.

LNG Storage Tanks

LNG storage tanks are specially insulated pressure vessels designed for the safe and efficient storage of LNG, which is natural gas liquefied at -162°C. These tanks minimize evaporation rates and ensure stable storage of the product at low temperatures thanks to their double-walled construction and vacuum insulation systems. They are used in areas such as energy production, industrial facilities, transportation, and fuel filling stations. They are manufactured in accordance with international standards such as EN 13458, ASME, and ADR, and can be offered in horizontal, vertical, or underground models upon request.

GENERAL FEATURES

  • YILTEKS LPG storage tanks are designed and manufactured in accordance with the PED 97/23/EC EU directive upon customer request
  • Fine-grained pressure vessel steels of P355 quality, compliant with EN 10028-3, are used in the manufacture of the tanks. The metallurgical and mechanical properties of the steels are tested and verified.
  • All welded joints are tested according to the manufacturing standard. For this purpose, a combination of X-ray, ultrasonic, penetrant, and magnetic particle tests is used.
  • After manufacturing, all tanks are subjected to a hydrostatic pressure test. After this test, the connections of the tank accessories are tested for leaks using nitrogen.
  • After sandblasting, the tanks are coated with the highest quality paint. The correct type and thickness combination of primer, undercoat, and topcoat is determined according to above-ground or underground use.

Standard Tank Volumes

  • 1 m³ – 5 m³: Small-scale applications, laboratories, or individual energy systems
  • 10 m³ – 60 m³: Industrial on-site use, small-to-medium-scale energy systems
